The Titans have a new sponsor and everyone at SuperSport Park are looking forward to the upcoming cricket season.
Local powerhouse, franchise team the Titans have announced Multiply as their new team sponsor for the Momentum One-Day Cup Series and the Sunfoil Series (domestic four-day competition).
The sponsorship is confirmed for the next three years and the Centurion-based team will now be known as the Multiply Titans in these two formats.
Multiply and Momentum are client-facing brands in the MMI Holdings group of companies. Being a Multiply member assists Momentum clients in unlocking financial wellness, in the form of wellness solutions and rewards.
The Multiply Titans have won a full-house of domestic titles over the past two seasons and continue to do well in the one-day, T20 and four-day formats. With a strong compliment of national players on their books and a solid track record of talent moving up the ranks, the Multiply Titans are poised for ongoing success.
Out-going coach Rob Walters has left the team with an enduring foundation of solid work ethic and mind-set of success.
The team’s first outing as the Multiply Titans will be at the annual pre-season Momentum eKasi Challenge against the bizhub Highveld Lions on Wednesday 7 September in Soweto. This year the Titans will have to multiply their efforts if they are to take the trophy from the Lions who remain undefeated in this challenge.
Shortly thereafter the Sunfoil 4-Day Domestic Series kicks off from Thursday 6 October 2016. The Momentum One-Day Cup has a delayed start this year with the series only starting in February 2017.
Commenting on the announcement, Jacques Faul, Chief Executive of the Multiply Titans said, “We are very pleased to be welcoming Multiply to the Titans family. The track record of the Titans is self-evident and underlines their dominance, winning the domestic double in 2011/2012 and 2015/2016, and grabbing the spoils in the Momentum One-Day Cup in 2014/2015 after sharing it in 2013/2014. We also claimed the RAM SLAM T20 Challenge in 2015/2016.”
“Most of the players who form part of the Multiply Titans group are either representing South Africa, South Africa A or are part of an exciting crop of emerging stars who are poised to ignite SuperSport Park and other iconic South African venues with their performances.”
“We are also thrilled with the work ethic and the life skills adopted by the players of the Eastern Titans franchise. It ties in with our own approach to life skills and life choices, and believe we present significant value for our sponsors,” Faul concluded.
