Final few weeks for 2017 Comrades entries
Time is running out for athletes who want to enroll for 2017's Comrades marathon.
With a little more than 5000 entries available for the 2017 Comrades Marathon, the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has urged aspiring Comrades runners to enter before the entry process closes.
The CMA has confirmed that the total number of processed entries now stands at nearly 15000 since the opening of entries on 1 September 2016.
The 2017 Comrades entry process closes on 30 November 2016 or as soon as the 20,000 entry cap is reached. For the latest entry barometer and more information, athletes can visit www.comrades.com
“We are experiencing a flurry of calls from anxious runners enquiring about the cut-off date for entries into next year’s Comrades Marathon. November usually turns out to be a busy final month for entries,” said CMA General Manager, Chris Fisher.
Fisher added that the 20,000 entry cap could be reached well before 30 November.
“We therefore urge our runners to avoid the disappointment of not being part of the 92nd Comrades Marathon on Sunday, 4 June 2017,” he concluded.
Details on how to enter and information about entry fees are also available on the aforementioned Comrades Marathon website.
