New era for Clubview tennis club
The Clubview tennis club officially positioned themselves in a new era for tennis recently.
Tennis in SA is experiencing an exciting phase that will hopefully lead to a new golden age for the sport.
Although most start playing tennis at club level for recreational purposes, it seems that clubs will have to offer more options to members in the future.
At some clubs in Pretoria, the standard of league players is so high that clubs will probably also have to provide a platform to expose this talent to international standards.
The Clubview tennis club in Centurion, founded in 1963, recently updated its approach and image to be ready for this new tennis era.
A special day was organised to inform members and prospective members of the club’s vision for the future.
The club’s new logo, colours and website were revealed, a coaching partnership with JL’s Tennis Academy was announced and the resurfaced court at the club inaugurated.
New trophies were also handed to the winners of the 2016 Club Championship.
Eighty-one-year-old Jeanette van As, founding member of the club, had the opportunity to open the resurfaced court 1 before an exhibition match was played on the court.
Apart from re-branding the club, more effort would go into communication through social media, especially via the club’s Facebook page as the club strives to live its new motto: Tennis for Everyone.
