Unique Kolonnade 3-in-1 road race gets league status

The Budget Kolonnade 3-in-1 road race, which this year will be presented for the third time, will take place on Saturday 18 March.

Overkruin Athletics Club will present their popular Budget Insurance Kolonnade 3-in-1 road race this Saturday for the third consecutive year at the Kolonnade Shopping Centre in Montana.

Last year’s race was reckoned as one of the best presented races in Pretoria after the race received league status in only its second year of existence.

Runners have a choice between a 5km fun run, a 10km road race or a 21,1km half marathon with a scenic route through Montana Park, with the start and finish at Kolonnade Shopping Centre.

This race is run in the picturesque suburb of Montana Park. The route meanders through quiet roads which makes the effect of traffic minimal.

The race is being run for the third year and is a community event with the schools in the area manning the water points. Water points will be available every 3km. There is a competition for the best water point so this makes for a great atmosphere on the road.

The Kolonnade shopping centre offers lots of parking and restaurants for hungry runners looking for a post-race breakfast.

The 10km and 21,1km races will start at 06:00, while the 5km Fun Run starts at 06:15
