SA Cares for Life took learners from a rural settlement in the eastern parts of Pretoria under their wing when they recognised the need for classrooms since some learners did not have proper facilities and were exposed to the elements of nature.

Big Box Containers was approached and they supplied containers which can now be used as classrooms.

Since SA Cares for Life was the beneficiary, the project on Mandela Day was to brighten up and paint beautiful and colourful pictures and designs on these containers.

SPAR sponsored all the food and beverages to keep the energy levels up and once again lived up to their theme ‘FindYourWingz’ of the SPAR Women’s Challenge. They brought a whole team to assist in the paint work and kept the creative juices ‘flying’.

In keeping with Nelson Mandela’s words that ‘education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’, other sponsors contributed and also sent teams to create and paint.

Groot FM organised the event and the presenters kept all going with their support and enthusiasm. A big thank you is extended to all the SPAR Women’s Challenge brand ambassadors that partook in the day.

SPAR Women’s Challenge calls on all to make a difference in other people’s lives – no matter how small or big it may seem. The race is an example of how one can help others ‘Find their Wingz’.

The Pretoria SPAR Women’s Challenge takes place on 4 August 2018 at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Entries are available at selected SPAR stores and online at sparladiespta.co.za
