Only hours left to qualify for discount as “early bird” in Tshwane Classic cycle race

Prospective “early birds” who want to enter the Tshwane Classic cycle race, which will take place later this year, only have hours left until midnight on March 31 to register at a discounted rate.

With the planned first version of the Joburg Classic cycle race which has been cancelled and the second version of the Tshwane Diamond Classic which is in the balance, cyclists in Gauteng can focus on preparing for the Tshwane Classic, which will only take place in November this year.

The inaugural version of the Joburg Classic would have taken place near the Lanseria Airport north of Johannesburg on March 29, but it’s one of the many sporting events that have had to be cancelled or postponed over the past few weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Only time will tell whether the Tshwane Diamond Classic, presented northeast of Pretoria at the Baviaanspoort Correctional Services grounds since last year, will still continue on May 24 this year. The chances are slim, however, as many other sports events that would have taken place in May have already been cancelled due to the virus pandemic.

The same organizer presenting the two above mentioned races – Hectic Promotions – is also in charge of the Bestmed Tshwane Classic, which is only scheduled for 1 November this year. Hectic Promotions gives prospective participants in the Tshwane Classic who enrolled as “early birds”, the opportunity to register for this race at a discounted rate before midnight on March 31.

However, this means that prospective “early birds” only have hours left until midnight on March 31 to register.

Over and above a 10% entry fee reduction compared to last year, the Bestmed Tshwane Classic early bird special offers a further 15% saving until 31 March.
