Kings K1 kickboxing tournament in Pretoria promises plenty of action

Some of South Africa's very best kickboxers will be in action this coming weekend at a championship tournament in Pretoria.

Fans of Mixed Martial Arts – specifically kickboxing – can look forward to an action-packed tournament in Pretoria this coming weekend.

The new K1 Super-Am heavyweight champion for South Africa will be crowned at an adrenaline-fueled Kings K1 tournament on Saturday the 9th of March at The Barnyard in Menlyn.

Only the very best fighters from across the world fight at Kings K1, which is the largest full contact K1 Kickboxing league in South Africa and is sanctioned by the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO).

In the main fight of Saturday evening, the former well-known rugby player, AJ Rossouw, faces off against Herman Oberholzer to crown the new national WAKO SA heavyweight Super-Am champion.

This main battle promises to be a real spectacle. The two men had already fought against each other before and Rossouw was then the winner. However, Oberholzer believes that he is a better fighter than he was during their first fight and he believes that he has some trump cards that could turn the fight in his favour this time around.

The rest of the fight card is as follows:

– Lebohang Ramakoae vs Weynand Byleveld
– Moses Mokari vs JP (Ruthless) Weber
– Willie van Rooyen vs Brandon Santos. (This fight is expected to be a fast battle between two dynamic strikers.)

– There will also be a women’s bout, with Daniela Rotteglia and Madeli Marloth taking on each other in a clash of two of South Africa’s top female fighters.

The two ladies are among the very best in the sport. Marloth has fought internationally and has an MMA background – specifically Muay Thai – while Rotteglia is also a Muay Thai specialist who made the transition to K1 Kickboxing.

Don’t miss the thrill and electrifying atmosphere – being there live is an experience like no other.

According to the promoters, it is always better to be ringside when these top fighters face each other and fans of combat sports can see some of South Africa’s very best Kickboxers in action first hand.

As the motto states: This is not just a fight night; it’s an experience.
