The Royal Embassy of Thailand is one of the main sponsors of this event and are working with EFL on growing the sport for South Africa.

Martial arts lovers can look forward to an epic Muaythai showdown. The action kicks off on Saturday with the preliminary knockout rounds. The final two fighters will advance to the grand finale at EFL-11 on 31 August this year, where they will battle for the ultimate prize.

The Champion will receive fully paid return flights to, and accommodation in Thailand, where he will have the privilege of attending a training camp at one of the best Muaythai training centres in this country.

Thailand is the birthplace of this popular fighting code, which is a super-popular sport among the population of the country. In fact, it’s officially the country’s national sport.

This Gladiators Cup event celebrates the rich heritage of Muaythai and Thailand and its diverse regional styles of Muaythai . From the smart and tactical Muay Femur to the aggressive Muay Mat, the powerful knee strikes of Muay Khao, the kicking prowess of Muay Tae, and the brutal elbows of Muay Sok – every fighter brings their unique style to the ring.

The question to be answered is which style will reign supreme?

Saturday’s action in the Barnyard Theatre begins at 19:00. For any further enquiries, call Sven Grant on 083-414-0353.
