New ‘sheriff’ for Pretoria North police

The Pretoria North police station has welcomed the promotion and appointment of the new station commander and is looking forward to making the area a safer place for the community.
New ‘sheriff’, Colonel Nonzwakazi Joyce Julla, took command of the station on 4 May.
“She was promoted to full colonel and Pretoria North police welcomed her with open arms,? spokesperson Captain Matthew Nkoadi said. Julla has served 26 years in the police and is an experienced station commander and has been leading in such a position from 2015.
“I am here to serve the community and ensure they feel safe in our policing precinct,” Julla said shortly after her appointment.

“Crime in Pretoria North has been a burning issue, especially contact crime and property-related crimes, which are robbery, assault, burglary and theft of motor vehicles.”
She said the police had a collaborative relationship with the local CPF and sector patrollers.
“To fight and control these identified crimes in Pretoria North these relationships with external stakeholders will be prioritised and strengthened. Partnerships are crucial for the station,” Julla said.
“Through better community engagement and collaboration, our work will be driven by a stronger partnership with our community and other stakeholders whereby the safety and security of the community are ensured, and hope and confidence re-instilled in the community.”
Julla said the station management and its members were committed to improving and sustaining the good work that has been shown through dedication and commits to the turnaround vision and leadership.

“Partnership is the best way to combat crime. I am depending on the community to work together with us. Crime is a pandemic that affects all of us so we need to strengthen our efforts and police visibility will be improved. Unity is power,” Julla said.
