Covid-19 cases in SA rise to 287 796
11 554 new infections recorded as of Monday and 93 more people have died.

South Africa now has 287 796 confirmed Covid-19 cases, the Department of Health announced on Monday.
This is an increase of 11 554 new infections from Sunday.
Ninety-three more deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the country to 4 172.
Of the new recorded cases of death due to Covid-19, six are from KwaZulu- Natal, 11 from Mpumalanga, 16 from the Free State, 37 from the Western Cape and 23 from the Eastern Cape.
According to data released by the Department of Health, 138 241 recoveries have been recorded to date.
In total, 2 194 624 Covid-19 tests have been conducted.

The following confirmed Covid-19 cases have been detected in each province, according to the data released on Monday:
– Western Cape: 79 344 cases
– Gauteng: 10 3713 cases
– KwaZulu-Natal: 27 387 cases
– Eastern Cape: 52 058 cases
– Limpopo: 3 316 cases
– Mpumalanga: 4 299 cases
– North West: 10 525 cases
– Northern Cape: 1 522 cases
– Free State: 5 632 cases
