Sunrise Primary hockey teams through to SA school finals
- The Sunrise Primary School's boys and girls hockey team shined brighter than ever before last Friday during the South African Schools Sport Limpopo Provincial Championships in Polokwane as they reigned undefeated.
MOKOPANE – The Sunrise Primary School’s boys and girls hockey team shined brighter than ever before last Friday during the South African Schools Sport Limpopo Provincial Championships in Polokwane as they reigned undefeated.
Their motto for the season was; “When we take the bull by its horns, the aim is not to test its strength, but to bring it down and to de-horn it,” and that is exactly what this team did.
The girls team, representing Waterberg District, won 6- 0 against the Capricorn District and 8-0 against Mopani District, while the boys team won 1-0 against Groblersdal Primary School from Sekhukune District, 6-0 against Capricorn District and 8-0 against Mopani District and both these top teams netted 29 goals in one day.
The Sunrise Hockey teams will represent the province in the SA Schools Sports National Finals that will be held during December in Durban.
