POLOKWANE – Residents can expect a largely sunny and settled winter week ahead, with daytime temperatures climbing into the mid-20s before a slight cooling trend arrives toward the weekend.
The week begins with mostly sunny conditions and a high of 21°C on Monday before temperatures rise sharply to 25°C on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Combined with abundant sunshine, those temperatures will make for unusually pleasant winter afternoons across the city.
Conditions remain favourable on Thursday with a high of 22°C and mostly sunny skies.

The only chance of rain in the forecast comes on Friday, when a stray afternoon shower is possible. However, rainfall amounts are expected to be minimal, and temperatures will remain mild with a daytime high of 21°C.
The weekend is expected to stay dry, with highs of 21°C on Saturday and 20°C on Sunday under mostly sunny skies.

While afternoons will feel warm by winter standards, residents should continue to prepare for cold mornings and evenings. Overnight temperatures throughout the week are forecast to drop to between 5°C and 8°C, creating a significant contrast between early-morning and afternoon conditions.
The main weather story this week is the return of sunshine and warm winter afternoons, with temperatures peaking in the mid-20s before settling back closer to seasonal averages heading into the weekend.
