The Seeff Road Race set the perfect trend for the year on the athletics front as close to 1 000 athletes joined in the first race of the year on Saturday.

POLOKWANE – The Seeff Road Race set the perfect trend for the year on the athletics front as close to 1 000 athletes joined in the first race of the year on Saturday.

The ninth anniversary of the popular race was enhanced by the third 21,1 km race on the programme.

Polokwane Athletic Club (PAC) joined forces with Jaguar Polokwane, Seeff and Thornhill Spar to host the annual Seeff Road Race and offered athletes the option of a 21,1 km race, a 10 km race and a 5 km fun run to kick off the athletics season.

“This is the first organised road race of the 2018 running year for Limpopo and we urge athletes to participate and to get into shape for a busy year,” PAC Chairperson, Corrie Calitz, said.

Jaguar Polokwane served as starting point for the race with the finish line at Thornhill Shopping Centre. Several well-known athletes in the city such as Rufus Photos and Stefan Steyn competed in the 21,1 km race.
