KNP’s Skukuza Rest Camp main gate to close for maintenance

The main gate at Skukuza Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park will be closed from November 2 to December 4 for roof repairs and maintenance.

LIMPOPO – Visitors to the Skukuza Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park will have to use an alternative entrance for just over a month while maintenance work is carried out on the main gate.

SANParks announced that the main gate will be closed from Monday, November 2, until Friday, December 4, 2026, to allow for repairs and maintenance to its roof structure.

Alternative entrance

During this period, visitors will access the camp via Hippo Circle Street, the road leading to the Skukuza Medical Doctor/Surgery, with the temporary entrance situated through AM Spa and Skukuza Safari Lodge.

Visitors are advised to follow directional signs and instructions from park staff to ensure the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians.

Part of ongoing infrastructure programme

SANParks said the maintenance forms part of its ongoing infrastructure programme to improve the safety and functionality of facilities in the Kruger National Park.

The project is expected to be completed by December 4, although the timeframe may be affected by weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.
