Officialls say he was taken to hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) officials after he was found shivering in the cold.

The boy is still in hospital after doctors conducted a examination to determine if the boy’s health was affected by the cold weather.

Jane Furse Hospital communication officer, Ernest Ratau said several attempts to find the boy’s parents or caretakers have failed. “The name of the boy is still unknown as he is still unable to talk.

“The doctors reported that the boy is still in good health, he is not suffering from any kind of diseases and he does not have injuries on his body that might be a sign of abuse,” said Ratau.

He further said the hospital would like to call upon the community to assist in finding the boy’s family.

Lt Masifo Maponya of Masemola police station said a case of child negligence had been opened, the family of the child had not yet been found and there were no leads of the parents’ whereabouts.

He urged the community to help the police reunite the child with his family.
