Bulinki takes off on his new solo career

BULINKI Mangena has left the hip hop group, Silver Frost to pursue a solo career.

BULINKI Mangena has left the hip hop group, Silver Frost to pursue a solo career.

Bulinki says he decided to go solo because he wanted to offer more to his fans and introduce his style of music, which he calls Afro-pop hip hop, to them.

He has already recorded a mixtape with seven tracks, which received a warm reception from fans across the province. The mixtape was released in September.

“Being a member of Silver Frost made me the person I am today. I have learnt a lot from the group, from production to song writing,” says Bulinki.

“The decision to leave the group was hard, but I am happy that I am building my brand.” He has featured musicians such as Mlaza, Buntlu and Joasta on the mixtape, with DJ Xtreme and Charmza as producers.

“I want to make it clear that I am not fighting with the members of Silver Frost. We are still friends and advise each other on the music business,” he says. Bulinki, who harbours ambitions to become the first hip hop singer from Polokwane to feature an American rapper, says he wants to build an empire that will contri-bute towards the development of the arts in the province and the country.

He is currently working on a new offering, which will be released soon.
