Brilliant learner’s financial need

MATRICULANT Tendani Makondo (18) from Tshavhalovhedzi village outside Makhado passed matric at Marude Secondary School with two distinctions.

MATRICULANT Tendani Makondo (18) from Tshavhalovhedzi village outside Makhado passed matric at Marude Secondary School with two distinctions.

Her dream is to study B.Com accounting at the University of Johannesburg, but unless she receives outside assistance from a good Samaritan, her dream will remain just that.

Tendani lives with her disabled grandmother, Veronica Tatshibvumo in a RDP house in the village. Her 34-year-old mother is in Johannesburg trying to find decent work so that she can provide for her family.

“My heart is sore. I saw former classmates who live nearby leaving to go and further their studies, but I can’t because we do not have enough money.”

Sitting in her wheelchair in the doorway of her RDP house, Tandani’s grandmother said she wanted her to go to the university of her choice. “I don’t have the money to make her dream of becoming someone in life come true. If anyone can help, please, we need you to help her,” she said.

Marude Secondary School principal Alex Muthelo said Tendani was a hard worker. “Anyone willing to assist her will not regret it. She was one of my best learners. She must keep on doing great and I wish her good luck for her future,” he said.
