Jaco their 1st Vuyo facelift

POLOKWANE – With Spar Thornhill under new ownership, it will be undergoing a major revamp soon.
Store manager, Phillip Schoeman says this means that once the revamp is completed, the store will also have a coffee shop, temptations snack section, open butchery and possibly even a sushi bar if all goes according to plan. “We want to give the store a new feel and make it more welcoming to customers,” he explains.
A Vuyo’s Boerewors mobile unit outside the store will also be a new service, and one person will be given an opportunity to own his or her own business, making boerewors rolls, Schoeman says.
He explains that Spar, in partnership with Miles Khubeka, who is famously known as Vuyo from Vuyo’s Boerewors, are setting up Vuyo’s Boerewors mobile units outside Spar supermarkets nationwide.
Khubeka says they will be empowering people to start their own businesses by making Vuyo’s boerewors rolls. The lucky person who will receive this opportunity at Spar Thornhill, is Jaco van Rensburg.
Van Rensburg, who was born disabled says this is a big opportunity for him. “I am grateful to Spar for giving me this opportunity, as I would still be unemployed and looking for work now. I enjoy what I do, it is nice meeting different people everyday and the customers are great.
“I am very excited about Vuyo’s concept and cannot wait for my mobile unit to arrive. I never thought that I could ever have a job, but this, owning my own little business, is even greater news. My biggest dream now is to own a restaurant in the city,” van Rensburg says.
