POLOKWANE – Ivy Park Primary School’s learners were very excited for the holiday to start.

Review asked learners what their plans for the school holidays were.

Wouter Oosthuizen said he would spend his holidays playing paint ball with friends and family at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World. “I just want to relax with friends and family and have a good time. I would go for a holiday somewhere overseas if I had money.”

Armand Pretorius said he would be playing television games and stay indoors. He said he had waited very patiently for the school holidays to begin.

Carol de Bruin said she was going to visit her mother in Mokopane. “I don’t have many plans for the holidays, I just want to be with my mother and sit on her lap so that I can feel like a little girl again,” she said.

Adriaan Henning said he will use the time off to enjoy being with friends. He said school holidays are for learners to relax and to spend time with family and friends. He urged learners to stay safe during the holidays and to stay away from harmful substances such as alcohol and drugs.

“School holidays do not give you a free pass to do silly things that would lead to trouble. I would like to encourage all learners to take care and to behave.”
