Police catch the 3rd escapee in Gauteng

One of the two remaining escaped prisoners the police were searching for has been taken back into police custody.

POLOKWANE – One of the two remaining escaped prisoners the police were searching for has been taken back into police custody.

This follows after four suspects escaped from police custody at the Seshego police holding cells on May 8.

Pheeha Mamere and Kgaugelo Nkoana were taken back into custody shortly after their escape. Sihle Skapu was caught in Johannesburg last Sunday.

He was awaiting trial for charges of murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and robbery at the time of his escape.

An additional charge of escaping from lawful custody has been added to his charge sheet. Skapu appeared before the Seshego magistrate’s court on this charge on Tuesday and the case was postponed to July 10.

The fourth escapee, Frans Moloto, is still being sought, and the police have warned that it is not advisable to contront him should he be seen.

Anybody with information regarding Moloto’s whereabouts can contact Capt Alex Mailula at 072 853 4770 or Capt Mabena Lephalala at 082 729 1119.
