A MOZAMBICAN national who was allegedly found in possession of human body parts appeared in the Malamulele magistrate’s court on Friday.
Samson Majoko (35) was remanded in police custody pending further investigations.
Majoko was arrested at Xipurapureni village in Malamulele last Tuesday evening following a tip-off from residents.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brig Hangwani Mulaudzi said they received a tip-off from the community and followed up on information about a man who wanted to sell body parts.
“The police rushed to the scene and found the suspect sitting in a vehicle. They searched the vehicle and found a plastic bag containing private parts and two hands. The man was arrested,” said Mulaudzi.
Mulaudzi said a specialised team of detectives was appointed to investigate the incident, and they found a mutilated body last Wednesday.
“The body was taken to forensics to determine whether the body parts belong to the deceased.”
