THE Hlanganani police are on the hunt for two men who allegedly raped and caused the death of an 83-year-old woman in Sereni village on Saturday.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brig Hangwani Mulaudzi, said the elderly woman was asleep when the two men, who were wearing balaclavas, forced their way into her room and demanded money.
He said the two men then dragged the pensioner into the veld where they allegedly raped and assaulted her before they returned to her house and set it alight.
“The victim was admitted to the Elim Hospital but was declared dead later that day,” Mulaudzi said. Anyone with information is urged to make contact with the police at 073 427 8604 or to contact the nearest police station.
