FED-UP residents of Mokopane and the surrounding area went on the rampage again on Monday with the intention of disturbing the municipality’s IDP road show in Moshate village.

The angry residents demanded that the 26 councillors who had failed to attend three or more council meetings should be expelled.

Violence also erupted with municipal paving being removed, tyres about to be burnt and insults and threats flying. However, municipal security guards quickly brought the situation under control.

Mogalakwena spokesperson, Malesela Selokela, said they were disappointed with the behaviour of residents involved in this illegal action.

The crowd was dispersed by the police and no injuries were reported.
