The Black Management Forum (BMF) in Limpopo recently honoured communications minister Faith Muthambi for the role she played in government and the organisation.

Born and bred in in Tshimbupfe-Tshivhulana village near Thohoyandou, Muthambi is a former active member of the Thohoyandou BMF.

She was an African National Congress representative in the communication portfolio committee prior to her appointment as communications minister in May.

At the gathering, held at the Khoroni Hotel in Venda, Limpopo BMF deputy president, Koko Khumalo, described her as a courageous woman.

“As an organisation we stand for the development of black managerial leadership and our mandate is to recognise and produce leaders who should assist in directing the country’s transformation agenda in the right direction,” Khumalo said.

“Perseverance is the mother of success. I never thought I would be here today. Our people expect us to be focused at all times.

The journey from the days while I was still active with the BMF to actively getting involved in politics has been a challenging one, but I’m grateful for all the experiences I went through,” Muthambi said in her speech.
