New mayoral committee at Mopani

THE Mopani mayor, Nkakareng Rakgoale has appointed new members of the mayoral committee.

THE Mopani mayor, Nkakareng Rakgoale has appointed new members of the mayoral committee.

The newly appointed members were inaugurated during a special council meeting last Wednesday.

In terms of the provisions of the Municipal Structures Act, the former mayoral committee ceased to function when the former mayor, Joshua Matlou resigned.

The following councillors are in the new committee:

• Sizwe Ramaremela was retained as the head of governance and administration portfolio.

• Magdeline Makhurupetje-Malatji replaced Magdelin Lewele as the head of finance.

• Conny Nkuna was retained as the head of agriculture.

• Maria Sibiya has been appointed as the head of the new community services portfolio.

• Hellen Moshobane has been moved from health and social development to replace Norman Machete as the head of infrastructure.

• Dunanni Ndove takes over as the head of water services replacing Gladys Manganyi who has been appointed as a parliamentary officer for the provincial department of cooperative governance, human settlement and traditional affairs.

• Reginald Mametja replaced Masilo Maloko as the head of planning and development.

• Isiah Baloyi replaced Caroline Hlatswayo as the head of roads and transport. Hlatswayo has been moved to sport and recreation, replacing Aubrey Ngobeni.
