TWO 11-year-old boys drowned in Mashela Valley, Letsitele over the weekend.

Tzaneen cluster police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe said the bodies of Bohlari Mkhombo and Len Masinge were found on Sunday morning.

“Their bodies were found floating in the Letsitele river and their clothes were found on the river bank.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the boys drowned while swimming,” Ngoepe said.

He said the boys had left their homes in Bonn village at around 14:00 on Saturday. He said an inquest has been opened and no foul play was suspected.

Ngoepe appealed to parents not to let their children swim in the river as it was very dangerous, especially during the rainy summer season.
