POLOKWANE – Masscash announced a merger between Jumbo Cash and Carry Polokwane and Polokwane Cash and Carry last week.

Polokwane mayor, Thembi Nkadimeng, who cut the ribbon signifying that the store was officially open, attended the official opening of the store.

Masscash floor manager, Collin Tladi, said the merger would make shopping more convenient for customers.

“This merger will create a convenient one-stop shopping destination. Many customers have already benefited from the merger as we have a wider range and better deals. The new combined store will be known as Jumbo Polokwane,” Tladi said.

He said there were now a larger and more varied frozen food section, ethnic hair accessories and toiletries, general merchandise and a liquor store.

“These new features come as a result of customer feedback and are part of Masscash’s commitment to deliver the la-test products in one convenient location.

“The company is able to provide competitive prices through a national footprint of warehouse formats.

“The wholesale business is designed to suit independent general dealers, government feeding schemes, franchise members, traders and hawkers,” he said.

“We support children’s homes and crèches in their nutritional needs,” he said.

“We also identified two primary schools, Mmaphatla and Makeketela in Ga-Mamabolo that needed assistance.

“We will supply all the stationery needed by next year’s gr. R learners.

Tau Masoane from Big 11 Kgorong Supermarket and Tavern, said the merger had already saved him time and money. “The merger has made my business more successful. I can spend less time shopping for everything I need, as I can buy everything under one roof,” Masoane said.

William Nkoana from Big 11 Mary William store said the new store was wonderful.

“We are very happy with the way changes that have been made,” Nkoana said.
