WATCH: Orchestra’s carols mesmerise fans
People gathered at the N.G. Kerk Pietersburg-Oos to hear the Limpopo Youth Orchestra perform
POLOKWANE – Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright.
Every Christmas this well-known carol is one of the many heard across the world. In shopping malls and churches, choirs will perform it and children will sing it.
This was also one of the songs performed by the Limpopo Youth Orchestra during their contemporary Christmas concert on Sunday night.
People gathered at the N.G. Kerk Pietersburg-Oos to hear the orchestra perform. The sweet sounds of violins, cellos, trombones and flutes rose into the night entrancing the audience with a variety of Christmas carols.
Attendees agreed that the concert had left them with the Christmas spirit. “I love Christmas music and that is why I came to this concert. The orchestra is good and you feel calm after listening to them for awhile. Hearing my favourite music performed by them was a big bonus,” Karabo Phiri, one of the attendees, said.
