Surprise up his sleeve

POLOKWANE – POPULAR and controversial comedian Mashabela Galane has joined the new Polokwane radio station Energy FM to co-host the Ashifa breakfast show alongside seasoned presenters Ashifa Shabba, Mpho Maumela and BK Matewe.

The station management made this announcement yester-day (Tuesday) ending months of speculation on whether the comedian, who has been a constant force to be reckoned with in the entertainment world, would join the recently launched station, especially given his busy schedule in Gauteng.

Energy FM station manager, BK Matewe said in a statement that they had been in talks for a few months.

“We are looking forward to his witty and outspoken personality which will add real value to what we already have.

“His presence alone at the station will also motivate the young and newly discovered talent at the station.

“The breakfast show will be even crazier with more opinions, and will keep our loyal audience more entertained.”

Mashabela yesterday also shared the news with his fans on social network Instagram, saying his decision to join Energy FM was long overdue.

Known for his no holds barred and witty comedy; Mashabela will bring a fresh meaning to local radio entertainment.

Mashabela is confident that he will add a valuable contribution to the station and agrees with Matewe that new and young talent at the station will also be motivated by his presence.

Seasoned presenter and comedian, Ashifa Shabba, said the Energy FM family was a brand that always attracted top personalities who wanted to make a positive contribution in their own communities.

“We welcome Mashabela and know that we will make more magic in the studio. This is the perfect time for him to join us because we have just started building a solid foundation whilst developing and moulding talent at the station.”
