Gathering to pray for Easter road safety
ABOUT 200 people attended the launch of the Arrive Alive Prayer last Thursday morning on the R101 to Mokopane to pray for the safety of the drivers over the Easter weekend.
MOKOPANE – ABOUT 200 people attended the launch of the Arrive Alive Prayer last Thursday morning on the R101 to Mokopane to pray for the safety of the drivers over the Easter weekend.
The members of the South African Police Services stationed at Mahwelereng and Mokopane jointly with department of justice, roads and transport, the South African Social Security Agency, (Sassa), the department of social development, the provincial safety and security Liaison, Love Life, Mogalakwena Municipality, CPF, VEP, interdenominational churches and pastors joined hands in prayer for the safety of the drivers this Easter weekend.
Phuti Molongwana said, “all interdenominational churches together with Mogalakwena stake holders chose this day so that we can pray spiritually and truthfully.
Since we started with these prayers the number of accidents and deaths on the road have been reduced even though they are still happening.”
Col Madiba Ledwaba, the acting station commander at the Mokopane police station, urge all the drivers to be patient on the roads and to reduce their speed. “Observe and stay focused on the road, don’t drink and drive.”
