LOUIS TRICHARDT – THE department of cooperative governance, human settlements and traditional affairs has released Sindisiwe Magwaza, who works for the department, to act as municipal manager of the Vhembe District Municipality until a permanent appointment is made.

Magwaza works at the department as a general manager in the development planning section. She holds an M.Sc in development planning and started working in the district on March 16.

“My objectives are to facilitate the provision of services, particularly water, to the communities of the Vhembe district, to ensure efficient financial management, to accelerate the implementation of capital projects and to make sure that payment of service providers is actualised for quality work done,” Magwaza said.

Vhember mayor, Tshitereke Matibe, was presented the acting municipal manager to the employees of the municipality. “We are blessed to have a knowledgeable person like Magwaza.

“Magwaza will be working with us until we appoint a new manager. She will also do site visits to assess progress and challenges faced by employees in their workplace, and I request employees to give her the necessary support she needs,” Matibe said.
