Treats for the TLC patients

On Tuesday, April 14 children received a warm meal sponsored by Limpopo Guest Manor, ice-cream from Frigella, masks made by learners from Polokwane Preparatory School (Pepps) and Easter Eggs.

POLOKWANE – The Tough Living with Cancer (TLC) ward at the Pietersburg Provincial Hospital is a ward dedicated for children living with cancer. Here they receive treatment, love and healthy food.

Being in hospital is not fun, but once a month a little bit of fun is ‘prescribed’.

On Tuesday, April 14 children received a warm meal sponsored by Limpopo Guest Manor, ice-cream from Frigella, masks made by learners from Polokwane Preparatory School (Pepps) and Easter Eggs.

“It is not a party, it is just something we do to uplift their spirits,” says Bobby Were, TLC facilitator.

“These little ones don’t always have it easy and their spirits are down at times. Giving them something to look forward to is just a small gift from us,” Were said.
