Limpopo man arrested following grisly discovery

54-year old man from Malipsdrift, has been arrested following the discovery of two headless bodies.

LIMPOPO – A 54-year old man arrested after the discovery of two headless bodies in Malipsdrift mountains did not appear in court on Tuesday as expected because he was injured after allegedly being beaten up by angry residents.

Police spokesperson Ronel Otto said the case went ahead in the suspects absence. Due to further investigation the case has been postponed to June 10.

According to earlier information, Elizabeth Madila, 57, and Timothy Selimela, 41, were last seen when they left home in Ramonoane on Friday, May 22 to look for a missing calf and collect grass to make brooms. They were reported missing after failing to return.

In the search for the missing people Madila’s headless body. The air search and rescue team assisted with the recovery says Otto.

The police rescued the 54-year old after the local residents accused him of the crime and assaulted him.

After questionaing the police placed him under arrest and took him to hospital in Lebowakgomo.

He helped police find Selimela’s body.

Otto said police were still trying to locate the heads of the man and the woman.
