Unemployment will not stop his entrepreneurial skills

Unemployed Wandar Moshoene (37) from Ga-Mphahlele says being unemployed for many years gave him the piece of mind to think of something different to do with his life.

LIMPOPO – UNEMPLOYED Wandar Moshoene (37) from Ga-Mphahlele says being unemployed for many years gave him the piece of mind to think of something different to do with his life.

A father of two, Moshoene says he looked for a job with no success and decided to sell hot meals in the city.

“I always aim high as I want to live a better life,” says Moshoene

He says he always works hard to ensure customer satisfaction.

“My customers always praise the food I cook for them and they know they can always depend on me for delicious and cheap meals,” he says.

He says his journey as a street vendor started in 2008. “I used to sell cold drinks at home but this did not make enough profit. I then decided to sell hot meals in town,” he says.

Moshoene says he is now able to support his family with the money he makes.

“I can make R600 per day and I can put bread on the table for my family.”

His dreams include having a big restaurant in the city.

“I look forward to going to work. I now look forward to getting a small shop where I can grow my business and be able to employ other people.”

He advised young people not to depend on government or expect anyone to help them.

“As young people we should come up with ways of creating our own businesses and avoid criminal activities such as using drugs and alcohol as these can damage our minds and prevent us from reaching our goals,” he said
