Two burglars nabbed
TWO suspects were apprehended after they allegedly broke into a clothing store in Thabo Mbeki Street in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
MOKOPANE – TWO suspects were apprehended after they allegedly broke into a clothing store in Thabo Mbeki Street in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
At about 01:00, a Strike Force reaction officer stopped at Suricat Security and asked them to escort him to the store, where the Strike Force reaction officer’s suspicions were raised when he noted a red sedan parked in front of the store. Eddie le Roux, Hennie Yates and Jacques von Winkel, reaction officers at Suricat, together with the reaction officer from Strike Force, went to investigate the matter.
On arrival they found that the store had been broken into and the immediately contacted the Mokopane police. The reaction officers found tools thought to have been used to break into the store and cell phones from the store inside the red sedan, according to a statement by Suricat.
The Mokopane police arrived at the scene and after a thorough investigation, arrested two suspects, aged 28- and 34 years. The red sedan was also confiscatged. The suspects were charged with housebreaking and would appear before the Mokopane magistrate’s court soon, Const Irene Masingi, spokesperson for the Mokopane police, said.
