Vadersdagkompetisie: Hier is ons wenners!
'MY PA is my lewe, my inspirasie, soms my "wake-up call" en ook die enigste mens wat my nederig hou'
MOKOPANE – “MY PA is my lewe, my inspirasie, soms my “wake-up call” en ook die enigste mens wat my nederig hou.
Hy is regtig ‘n great mens.”
Our second winner of three Spur vouchers to the value of R100 each is Benny Mashaba (23). He wrote that his father, James (66), had worked hard to get him to where he is today. “His guidance and advice that he gave me makes him confidently say he has done a great job in raising me. His love and warmth makes it easy to talk to for advice about anything. Education is what he preaches everyday and even today he urges people to be educated in order to make a difference in our society. My daddy is a positive influence not only to his family but also to the people he meets on a daily basis. He is one of those people who share the little he has with the people in the community and he treats my mother like a queen. I truly admire his positivity and never ending love.”
Here are some of the other top entries.
Wilmarie van der Westhuizen – “I’ve got the best dad, because he likes to makes me laugh and buy me treats even though my mother said no. He goes to all my hockey games and he can play like a kid. He gives advice like a friend and protects me like a body guard. He loves my mom and he believes in me.”
Gabriella Nesmith – “My dad is so special to me because he is better to me than my best friend. We always laugh and cry together. My dad will always try and make everyday special. He is also a great cook and I love his food! He helps me with homework as well as with problems I need to deal with. He is a “Superdad” and I love him to bits!”
Kamogelo Lebelo – “My dad is awesome because he buys me biltong, which is my favourite snack and he knows exactly how to get me to smile. He makes me feel better after writing a horrible test and he treats me like a princess. He is my best friend, my superhero.”
Ek is baie lief vir my pappa.”
Tebatso Lekalala – My father’s name is Freddy Lekalakala and he is the best dad in the world. His teaching is all about respect and education. He takes me to doctor when I’m sick and he always celebrates my birthday with me at Spur. We watch soccer together, we are friends, we go to church together, my homework is checked by him first, he is the one who attends my school meetings, he is the funniest man. We always laugh – that’s my dad! I love him so much.”
