LIMPOPO – Limpopo Premier, Stanley Mathabatha has officially dismissed suspended Rachel Molepo-Modipa, director general (DG) after the conclusion of the investigation was given.
Modipa was one of five Limpopo department heads that were put on paid suspension in April.
According to a DA press release, the party welcomes the dismissal of the suspended DG.
“She has been on suspension with full pay for almost three years at the expense of taxpayers. These funds could have been used for service delivery,” says Langa Bodlani DA Limpopo spokesperson.
He furthers says that if there is any basis of illegality on the part of Modipa, criminal charges must be laid by the premier.
“This will demonstrate that corruption and maladministration has no place in Limpopo. It will boost clean governance and good leadership.”
“The premier should not miss this opportunity to set an example to other senior government officials who siphon off public money for illegal and irregular ends and to prove that there will be dire consequences for such actions,” says Langa.
Langa says the premier must appoint a permanent DG to ensure the stable management of Limpopo government.
