LIMPOPO – THE Mogalakwena Residents Association (MRA) is still rejecting the re-appointment of Dan Thobela as Mogalakwena Municipality‘s technical services manager, alleging that he had been involved in corruption and forgery, which prompted his dismissal during his previous tenure as technical manager at the same municipality.
MRA spokesperson, Oscar Ratombo, said Thobela was found guilty of serious charges during his previous tenure as technical manager. “Why does the ANC provincial secretary force the Mogalakwena Municipality to appoint people with questionable characters who have a dark cloud hanging over them?” Ratombo questioned.
“This development confirms our assertion that the provincial secretary of the ANC, Knox Seabi and premier Stanley Mathabatha are the cause of the current problem at the Mogalakwena Municipality.
“As residents, we have serious challenges of service delivery which need immediate intervention from government but the current situation in Mogalakwena is getting worse and more worrisome,” he said.
“We call for the disbandment of the ANC provincial executive committee. If the ANC fails to discipline these two men, then come next year, we will contest the local government election,” Ratombo said.
ANC Limpopo general secretary, Nocks Seabi, said the noise that the MRA was making was just them expressing their democratic views. He said he was not living in someone else’s house.
“I don’t work for the municipality and I don’t have influence as to who should get a municipal position,” Seabi said.
