LIMPOPO – TINASHE Makwara (32) is a businessman from Greenside Ext 44, where he operates from the side of the road.

Originally form Zimbabwe, Tinashe has been living in Polokwane for 13 years, but struggled to find a job.

“I have been running the business for a year. I started the business after I lost my job several years ago,” says Tinashe.

He sells biscuits, snacks and repairs old shoes for the locals and says although the business is small, he is glad he can provide for himself.

“The business is doing well and people appreciate and like what I do. I make at least R400 every week, which means a lot to me,” he says.

Tinashe says running a business on the side of the road often affects his business due to the weather conditions.
