Fresh paint for entrance sign

Westenburg Secondary School personnel held a team building exercise last Thursday when they painted the sign at the entrance of Westenburg.

POLOKWANE – Westenburg Secondary School personnel held a team building exercise last Thursday when they painted the sign at the entrance of Westenburg.

The team started work at 10:00 and finished just after 15:00.

This exercise was initiated by the acting school principal, Jimmy Steele, for the personnel to work together as a team and to build relations.

With the permission of the ward councillor, Dorcas Madikoto, the team painted the structure of the sign yellow, white and blue, which are also the school colours.

The original sign board, which was old and rusty, was replaced with a new green and white sign board, which was sponsored by Steele’s former learner, Johan Heyneke.

One of the residents, Zillie Whitehead from Solly’s Bottle Store provided the personnel with food, water and cold drinks.

Another resident supplied electricity to the team in order to hang the new sign.

“I would like to thank Zillie Whitehead who supported us with food and drinks and Farouk Pemma who supplied us with electricity from his home.

“I would also like to thank Paint Pot who sponsored us with the paint and Johan Heyneke for the money to buy the new sign.

“Thank you to the personnel who came and supported the team building,” Steele said.
