LIMPOPO – THE Mahwelereng police appeal to the community to keep all their receipts upon purchases as the information on the receipt can be used by perpetrators to accumulate airtime and electricity, stated Const Sello Leso, spokesperson for the Mahwelereng police.

This appeal followed a number of complaints that people were being defrauded of their Sassa accounts, Leso said. He also stated that the community should be careful to borrow their cell phones to strangers as the police found that they made use of your cell phone to commit fraud. “We have arrested an 18-year-old man on a charge of fraud and he will appear before the Mokerong magistrate’s court on Monday August 3.”
