POLOKWANE – Caltex Fresh Stop opened their first store in Ivy Park, Polokwane on 20 August – the 200th store in the country.

The store is centrally located at the corner on Marshall and Campbell Streets, just a stone’s throw away from the central business district (CBD).

Over the last six years the petrol company has opened 200 stores all over South Africa thereby offering 2 000 job opportunities. It took five long years to get the latest venture in Polokwane off the ground which is in line with the city’s accelerated industrial development as one of the fastest growing cities in South Africa.

Fresh Stop Ivy Park offers customers a range of fresh fruit and vegetables, a selection of grocery items as well as a hot food section with a range of freshly baked pies, muffins and confectionary. For customers and commuters on the go, the store has an easy and extensive Grab ‘n Go section offering freshly made sandwiches, salads and wraps. For people and visitors in the vicinity a great cup of coffee is now as simple as popping into the shop for a Lavazza coffee. The store is also keeping up with the times as a free in-store WiFi hotspot.

In giving back to the community the store employs 50 employees from around the Polokwane area.

Joe Boyle, director of Fresh Stop, says this is a huge milestone for the area. “It will be a springboard for more such stores to open in the region. We are very excited about this new venture.”

The new store even boast additional in-store services in line with modern trends. It serves as a point for Aramex overnight courier service and as a Pargo store-to-door-drop-off point for customers who have purchased items online. Customers can also purchase airtime and data and pay for their electricity in-store.

“We are thrilled about the opening of this site and proud to be the first Fresh Stop in Polokwane.

“We will strive to offer the best quality products and service at affordable prices. Pop in and see what we have to offer,” invites David de Jager, one of the owners.

The new one-stop store all under one roof stays true to its convenient roots.
