Pedestrian dies after being hit by car on Dudu Madisha Drive
A 50-year-old man died after he was run over as he crossed Dudu Madisha Drive last Friday morning.
MOKOPANE – A 50-year-old man died after he was run over as he crossed Dudu Madisha Drive last Friday morning.
According to eye-witnesses the incident occurred within seconds.
“It was as if he was deep in thought, he didn’t even stop to look if it was safe to cross the road and unfortunately the car could not swerve in time,” one eye-witness said.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but due to his injuries, the man identified as James Mokwena, died at the scene.
“A case of culpable homicide has been opened and an investigation is ongoing,” Mokopane police spokesperson, Const Irene Masingi, said.
The police strongly appealed to residents to be alert and extra careful when crossing any road.
