The popularity and status of Queen of the North, regarded as one of the biggest pageants to date in the province, was confirmed when Mall of the North put up a billboard featuring current titleholder, Lebogang Malatji last week.
Organiser and Miss Humanity International 2014, Katryn Barwise said that she was overwhelmed by the pageant is being featured on a billboard for the first time. She said she was sure more girls would enter this year.
“Not many pageants in South Africa are featured on a billboard. Queen of the North is one of the few and this shows how big this pageant is and how this event grows each year,” Barwise said. She explained that they put a lot of planning in the billboard and had a photo session with Malatji three months earlier to make sure that everything is perfect.
Interested parties should also not delay to enter for the Public Choice Award that closes on 9 November. The closing date for the pageant is 27 November with the final judging and announcement of the winner on 28 November at Mall of the North.
