Three in court for murder of woman (55)
Three suspects appeared before the Mokerong Magistrate's Court in Mahwelereng on Monday for robbery, rape and murder of a 55-year-old woman on Saturday.
MOKOPANE – Three suspects appeared before the Mokerong Magistrate’s Court in Mahwelereng on Monday for robbery, rape and murder of Dessia Dinama Ramasobane (55) on Saturday morning at 04:00 at Dilokwaneng in Bakenberg.
“Three men, Johannes Mmolawa (36), Jeffrey Langa (21) and a third man who escaped, gained entrance to the victim’s house where she was beaten to death with a crowbar.
“We are investigating the possibility of rape and are awaiting the results of the post mortem. The three suspects took off in Ramasobane’s car and drove to Klipfontein in Tembisa where the vehicle was recovered by the tracking company along with the help of the traffic department.
During the chase one of the suspects managed to escape and Mmolawa and Langa were arrested. Tshepo Johannes Magata (26) was also arrested as he allegedly was the buyer of the stolen vehicle,” Const Sello Leso, spokesperson for the Mahwelereng police station, reported.
The case was postponed to 23 November for further investigation and the police is hot on the trail of the escapee, Leso said.
