POLOKWANE- Known for being an American tradition, Black Friday has crossed over to South African stores for the first time this year with many shops offering deals for today only.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving in the United States and is widely regarded as the beginning of the Christmas Shopping season in the US.
Most major retailers open very early (and more recently during overnight hours) and offer low prices with some shops going up to 80% off all goods.

This year, South African shops have also promoted Black Friday deals with retailers such as Checkers offering up to 50% off of certain products. Spree.com, an online clothing store are also offering their goods with 80% off 7000 discounted products and Cell C offering great deals on contract phones.
