Socialites and families are equally welcome at the newly refurbished Mike’s Kitchen Polokwane bar lounge, Terminal 4.
The restaurant opened their new bar with a bash in collaboration with Capricorn FM on Saturday evening and it was clear that this will become one of the city’s favourite spots to socialise.
Felicia Mphahlele, Marketing Manager of Mike’s Kitchen, says the new look bar has an upmarket feel and will focus on premium brands and cocktails. They will, however, not forget about the families who frequent Mike’s Kitchen and Let’s Go Bowling, and there are plenty of soft drinks and fruit juices on the menu.
“We are also famous for our delicious double thick milkshakes and to add to the appeal, we have installed a genuine Italian wood fire pizza oven. Our pizzas will have people begging for more,” she said.
Owner of Mike’s Kitchen Polokwane, Phumudzo Madzhie, emphasised that his team has a great working relationship with The Farmyard. “They provide the entertainment and we provide the food and drinks. It is a match made in heaven and we cater to everyone’s needs,” he explained.
“The music in the lounge does not interfere with the relaxed atmosphere in our garden and we cater for all moods and tastes. You can come here on a Monday morning in a suit for a meeting, relax in the garden after a hard day’s work on Tuesdays, and on Thursday evenings you can enjoy our deep house sessions with friends,” he said.
“We have runners, always dressed in white shirts, who are in charge of looking after the children. This means that parents can relax in the lounge and enjoy a cocktail, while their children are playing outside,” said Mphahlele, adding that they are very serious about not serving alcohol to minors.
“We also have a water slide on Saturdays and Sundays that children can use free of charge.”
Bar Manager Eugene Mogale said he looked forward to serving only the best cocktails to patrons and stressed that his creations will also be available in the restaurant itself.
“Make sure that you book for our Christmas buffet now. There are limited spaces available and the food and drinks will be out of this world for only R195 per person,” he said. Bookings can be made by sending an email to eventsplk@mikeskitchen.co.za or by calling 015 296 0223.
