POLOKWANE -Two schools and a pre-school recently benefitted from Pepps Polokwane College’s Gr 10 and Gr 11 community outreach projects.
The Gr 10 learners created some much-needed library space at the two primary schools and the Gr 11 learners helped to develop a colourful playground for the pre-school.
According to Pepps Polokwane College teacher, project coordinator and sports administrator, Martin Afonso, the Molautsi Secondary School situated in Makgofe, and the Moriting Primary School situated in Mankweng, received books, shelves, educational posters and a “spring clean”.
“The Ratanang Pre-school and Drop-in Centre received paint, tyres, soccer posts, soccer balls, netballs, hoola hoops, carpets and a jungle gym.
“All the learners participated enthusiastically to ensure the successful completion of these projects,” Afonso said.
He went on to say that Pepps Polokwane College learners are involved in numerous community and environmental initiatives which encourage learners to contribute towards human solidarity and sustainability.
This includes recycling projects and donating blood.
“Learners understand and engage passionately in initiating positive change in the community and the world,” he said.
Afonso also thanked each and every sponsor who contributed to these projects and helped make them possible.
He said a special thank you to Zunaid Abdoola, owner of Sasol Penina Park, for donating a generous amount towards the school’s community outreach projects.
According to Afonso the money was used to purchase many of the items that were donated.
Afonso also mentioned and thanked other contributing sponsors:

• Lempitse Trading Enterprise – drums.
• Pepps parents – toys, bean bags, cleaning and garden equipment.
