Mayor extends season’s greetings
Our pursuit to deliver accelerated and sustainable service continues. We will continue to improve our services in order to serve you best.
Our pursuit to deliver accelerated and sustainable service continues. We will continue to improve our services in order to serve you best.
I take this opportunity to thank you, the people of Polokwane for supporting us throughout even though sometimes our operations inconvenience you.
We vow to never betray the confidence you have in us.
As the Mayor, I’m grateful for the support, the respect and everything that you do to make us feel we are heading a community of people who are yearning for the best and are ready to support.
Let us respect our women and children by protecting them throughout. Don’t abuse them when you had too much fun or too much to drink.
Please find time to be with and play with your family, and remember to extend a hand to those who are in need.
Please remember that Polokwane is a water scarce area and I urge you to respect all municipal water restrictions, to make lifestyle changes to reduce water consumption and to implement water-wise measures, which include the re-use of water in your homes and businesses.
Water loss is a great concern and we call on all to report water leaks to the municipality as we have to save every drop. We all need to pull together during this difficult time by voluntarily rationing our water consumption.
Our youth are encouraged to enjoy their holiday time in a responsible manner.
We urge them to stay away from alcohol and drug abuse and to abstain from sexual activities.
Our best wishes go to those who recently sat for the 2015 matric examinations.
To all motorists who will be on the roads, please exercise patience, tolerance and avoid drinking and driving. Our law enforcement officers will be dispatched throughout the municipality to ensure your safety during this season.
If God approves, we will be back in the New Year to continue with the work we are doing. We pray to God that He delivers us safely into 2016.
On behalf of the Council of the Polokwane Municipality, I wish you all a happy festive season and a prosperous New Year.
Thembi Nkadimeng
Polokwane Mayor
