The team at DJ Service Station on Friday celebrated the grand opening and introduction of their newly updated facilities.
Owners Ameerudin Chicktay, a local general practitioner, and son Nabeel Chicktay explained that the service station, situated on the corner of Devenish and Dahl Streets, now boasted a brand new forecourt with all Caltex fuel products available on all pumps, spotless bathroom facilities and an ATM on site. “Every detail of the upgrades was done with customers’ convenience in mind,” Chicktay Jnr said.
Chicktay explained that his father opened DJ Service Station in 1998 and the filling station has gone from strength to strength since then. “We are lucky to have loyal customers without whom we would never have achieved this milestone. We also have personnel who have worked at DJ Service Station since the beginning.”
With fast food restaurant, Jimmy’s Killer Fish and Chips and the Amogela Express Convenience Store’s bakery and deli on site, customers are spoiled for choice when it comes to delicious food at reasonable prices. Jimmy’s Killer Fish and Chips also boasts a delivery service in Polokwane.

Amogela means ‘welcome’ in Northern Sotho and every customer should, according to Chicktay, feel welcome whenever they cross the threshold. The on-site bakery and deli bakes fresh bread, pies, pastries and snacks every day and the Design a Donut Station offers a bit of fun for customers who want to decorate their own doughnuts.
The deli also sells delicious crumbed chicken, a variety of sandwiches, stews, and cakes. They also cater for events.
DJ Service Station is open 24-hours a day, seven days a week and Amogela Express is open from 06:00 to 21:00 every day.
For more information about the Amogela Express bakery and catering, contact store manager Ruwaydah Davids on 015 297 4737.
